This is  an easy way to enter a set of existing codes into the Studio so you can explore, edit and add to it.

When you select this from the Value Set Menu, it pops up a dialog with a text area. Paste any blob of text containing your codes here. This can be a plain text list, an export to text from a spreadsheet or CSV file, it can be JSON. Paste and click the "Send" button within the popup.

When you click 'send' The Studio will extract any plausible terminology codes (from the systems selected in the search index drop down) and return any actual terms that correspond to these. They will be presented in a paginated selection list. You can select individually, select all, deselect some, or any combination.

Usually you will select all and this will add them to the current value set table. You can then look at and explore terms in the usual way, by clicking on them in the value set table and/or ancestor and descendants trees.

NOTE: select the best index to reflect your uploading value set and what you want out of it. If you have LOINC codes select the LOINC index. If you have a combination of ICD10 and SNOMED and want to upload even deprecated codes, use SNOMED ALL/ ICD10.

Fun help with exploring old value sets- if you select one of the ALL indices, old terms will be shown in italics. If you want to see what new terms have been added to SNOMED or LOINC since you created your value set you can enter the date you originally created it in Highlight After: data field and check the box. It will then highlight in the trees any terms that were added to the terminology system after your create date.

This will help you differentiate terms in the tree that were excluded from your value set when you created it from those that are not in your value set because they didn't exist when you made it.
